Appliance Configuration
On initial boot of your Virtual Appliance you will be prompted to go through the initial configuration. You will need to either open a console on the machine or SSH to the box using an appropriate SSH client.
The default login for your appliance is:
Username: iquate
Password: iquate
It is recommended that you update these credentials after you complete the configuration of your appliance.
Time Zone
Initially you may need to configure the time zone the appliance will operate in.
Scroll and select your geographical area (tab to ok and enter to complete)
Choose appropriate city for required time zone (tab to ok and enter to complete)
Network Settings
IMPORTANT: In case of a Cloud Appliance (AWS, Azure or GCP) this section will be dynamically skipped; the Appliance will try to do a series of checks to ensure it has the appropriate network access, and it will fail in a Cloud Environment.
You will need to configure the appliance with all the required information for it to successfully join your local network.
Configure hostname and domain
Select ‘y’ to confirm or ‘n’ to re-enter the data
Enter IP Address, Netmask (optional) and Gateway.
Note: you must use a static IP address from the private IP address range for your local LANSelect ‘y’ to confirm or ‘n’ to re-enter the data
Configure the DNS settings (primary and secondary) for the appliance
Select ‘y’ to confirm or ‘n’ to re-enter the data
Once all entries have been confirmed the system will run a series of checks to ensure it has the appropriate network access.
Assuming all network settings are correct you will need to create a license for the appliance and Register the appliance with your iQCloud account.

Registrating and licensing the appliance
To generate your license and register your appliance with the iQCloud platform you will need to have a login for your iQCloud account.
Open a browser window and login to the iQCloud Virtual Appliance user interface

The default login for your appliance user interface is:
Username: admin
Password: adminUpon first login the virtual appliance registration screen will be displayed.
Copy the unique Appliance ID for your iQCloud VA.
Open a new browser window and login to your iQCloud console (By default this is https://iqcloud.iquate.net Your iQuate Welcome Email will have a different URL in come cases).
Navigate to Settings → Discovery → Appliances and select New Appliance License
Enter the unique Appliance ID for your iQCloud VA copied previously and an appliance name (how you would like to see it appear in the iQCloud Appliances list – this does not have to be the hostname of the appliance)
Click on “Generate” to generate the license key for this appliance.
Copy the generated license key and paste it into the iQCloud Virtual Appliance user interface License Key field and click on “next”.
The “Organization” and “Remote Site” field will be pre-populated.
Click “Finish” to complete the registration
The services running on the virtual appliance will now restart and complete the registration process.
Click “OK” to return to the appliance UI main page
You may be required to login to the iQCloud VA user interface after restart.
The appliance will now show a summary of the appliance registration.
Once successfully completed the appliance will also be displayed in the Appliances list on the iQCloud console under Settings → Discovery → Appliances.
