Cloud Storage Management

Overview


The HyperCloud™ Platform (HCP) lets you create and manage your storage.

Create Storage


To create an additional volume:

  1. Login to your HCP account.

  2. Navigate to Service Orchestration > Services > storage > New.

  3. In the Volumes dialog, enter the information as shown in Table 1

  4. Once you create a volume, you'll see your volume go Live. Now we will have multiple options in context to this specifically created volume

  5. The operations that you can perform on your volume are listed out in Table 2.

Resource Pool 

Select your resource pool. This option is available only for Microsoft Azure cloud providers. 

Size 

Specify the resource Size.

Name

Enter a Name for your Storage. 

Type

Select the storage type from the Type drop-down:

Microsoft Azure:

  • Premium SSD

  • Standard SSD

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • General purpose SSD

  • Provisioned IOPS SSD

  • Throughput optimized HDD

  • Cold HDD

  • Magnetic

Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Standard Persistent Disk

  • SSD Persistent Disk

VMware vSphere 

  • Fixed

  • Dynamic

Termination Protection

You can enable Termination Protection to protect your volume from accidental deletion. If you've enabled this option, you'll need an Administrator approval to delete your storage.

Attach 

You can attach the volume to a Virtual Machine (VM) that belong to the same resource pool.

You can attach Microsoft Azure volumes to a VM if the VMs and volumes belong to the same resource groups.

Detach

Lets you detach a mounted volume from a VM.

Resize

You can increase or decrease the size of your Volume using this operation.

Clone

You can replicate an existing volume that belong to the same resource pool.

Timeline 

You can view the logs of the tasks performed within a volume. You can view the Task, Date & Time, and execution logs on via Timeline. Needs verification

Destroy

You can delete a volume using this operation. [1]

Notes:

  • [1] You cannot destroy a volume without detaching it from a VM.

    • If you've enabled Termination Protection policy, you'll need an Administrator approval to delete your storage.
