Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
Overview
This topic describes the steps to deploy a Kubernetes Cluster on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS).
Prerequisites: Before you begin, ensure that:
You create Resource Groups dedicated for Kubernetes cluster via Service Orchestration.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Resource Pools are available and entitled to the User Id that creates the Amazon EKS Cluster.
Deploy a Kubernetes Cluster
To deploy a Kubernetes Cluster on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud using Amazon EKS:
Login to your HCP account.
Navigate to Service Orchestration > Services > Containers.
Click on Create New Kubernetes Cluster and then click on New.
Enter a Name for your Kubernetes Cluster.
Select the following:
Amazon Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) from the Target drop-down
High Availability from the Type drop-down
At least two of your HyperCloud™ Platform (HCP) Resource Pools from the Resource Pool(s) drop-down
Machine Type [1]
3 or higher from the Node Count Per Zone from the drop-down
From the Auto-Scaling section:
Number of Minimum Workers per Pool from the drop-down.
Number of Maximum Workers per Pool from the drop-down.
Role ARN from the drop-down
Optionally, you can enable these Entitled Users:
Only me (default)
Everyone
Groups and Users: lets other users deploy Kubernetes Apps to your Cluster
Click on Save Changes.
Note:
[1] You'll need to select your machine time based on the workload.
We recommend that you select instance type with more than 2 vCPUs.
