User Password Policy
Overview
User Password Policy on the HyperCloudTM Platform (HCP) lets you:
Limit the number of login attempts to your account
Lock your account after you consume the limit for logging into your account
Set the Password Expiration Policy for your HCP account passwords
Assess the Password Strength of your HCP account password. Doing so ensures that your password is difficult to crack.
Limit & Lock failed logins
The HyperCloudTM Platform (HCP)) protects your from malicious attempts to crack your User Accounts. The HCP portal allows only five login attempts. Post these attempts your account will get locked out and you’ll be unable to attempt log in to your HCP account. Contact your Cloud and Tenant Administrators to unlock your account.
You’ll see the number of attempts left after every failed login attempt.
Tenant Administrators can unlock and activate a locked user account by clicking Unlock.
Tenant Administrators can filter and view Active, Inactive, and Locked users.
Password Expiration Policy
Your Cloud Administrator can specify a password expiration policy using the Reset Password Duration(in Days) field under HCP System Settings. Enter the value for the duration in days that you want the Password to valid. The User will need to change the password once it expires.
Password Strength Policy
Your HCP login password must be at least 8-16 characters long, and contain these characters:
Uppercase
Lowercase
Numeric
Special character like @$!#&
