Review CSP Customers Summary
This topic describes how to review CSP Customers subscriptions
- From HyperCloud™ Platform Click on Administration Tab Click on CSP Management
- Click on Customers Select the CSP Account ID from the dropdown to view all CSP customers
- To view a Customer Spending Report, click on the REPORT button. Report will be downloaded in excel workbook.
Configure CSP Customer Billing Settings
To configure markup for customers:
- Login to HyperCloud™ platform as Cloud Admin Click on ADMINISTRATION CSP Management Click on Customers Select the Account ID from the dropdown
- Select the Customer Click on Budget Settings tab & add a Markup Percentage. Click on Save.
- Tax Rate can be customized for each Customer if the tax is different from what CSP Provider uses.
- This completes the topic that shows the ways to configure budgets on a specific customer.
Spending Analysis & Instance Analysis for CSP Customers
HyperCloud Platform provides spending analysis, right-sizing and identifying idle resources. To view the spending analysis for a specific customer and specific subscription:
Virtual Machine Spending Analysis
HyperCloud™ Platform can perform Spending Analysis on a specific subscription. It provides a graphical view of the Virtual Machine cost. To view the Spending Analysis of a Subscription,
- Click on ADMINISTRATION CSP Management Customers Select the Account ID from the dropdown and then click on the relevant Customer Name.
Important Note: To obtain Spending Analysis and Instance Analysis for a selected customer, Cost and usage monitoring must be enabled
- Click on Spending Analysis to view the Virtual Machine Cost. The frequency can be configured to Daily & hourly while the range can be configured up to last 6 months.
- This completes the topic that shows the ways to perform Spending Analysis on a Subscription associated to a customer.
Instance Analysis (Right Sizing & Wastage)
HyperCloud Platform can perform Instance Analysis on a specific subscription. It provides a graphical view of the based on the VM usage and helps retrieve the Current Resource Cost, the Right Size Resources and the Idle Resources associated to a Subscription. The Instance Analysis is based on the last 30 days of the VM Usage. Use the following steps, to view the Instance Analysis of a Subscription
- Click on ADMINISTRATION CSP Management Customers Select the Account ID from the dropdown and then click on the relevant Customer Name.
- Click on the Subscriptions tab to view all the Subscriptions Click on Instance Analysis.
- Current Resource Cost tab provides a list view of all the instances(names), the Instance Type, Region, CPU Utilization (based on 99th percentile of the CPU usage), Usage & the On-demand Cost.
- Idle Resources tab provides a list of the instance which have been not been in use or have a low CPU Utilization. It provides a list of the Instance Name, the Instance Type, Region where the instance is based, CPU Utilization (based on the 99th percentile of the CPU usage), the Usage (in hours) and the On-Demand Cost associated to the instance.
- Right Size Resources tab provides a list of the instances which are overprovisioned or under provisioned and can be right sized. It provides a list of the Instance Name, Region where the instance is based, CPU Utilization (based on 99th percentile of the CPU usage), Usage (in hours), the Current Instance type and the cost associated to it, and the Recommended Instance type along with its cost. It also shows the Savings based on the recommendation.
- DOWNLOAD REPORT tab generates a .csv format report.
CSP Customer Onboarding (HyperCloud™ Tenancy)
Microsoft CPV partners can provide value added services to their CSP Customers via HyperCloud™ Platform. To enable a Customer to consumer services via HyperCloud™ Platform a CSP Admin must configure Tenant in HyperCloud Platform.
- From HyperCloud™ Platform Click on Administration Tab Click on Tenant Management Click on + Add New Tenant and enter the following information
- Enter the CSP Customer Full Name: for e.g. Contoso Admin
- Enter an email address for the user for e.g. admin@contoso.com
- Enter a Tenant name for e.g. contoso.com (default populated)
- From the Partner Company Drop-Down, Select a CSP Account
- From the CSP Customer Drop-down, select a CSP Customer.
- (Optional) System Admin Access allows Cloud Admin to impersonate the Tenant Admin for e.g. Contoso Admin: Default Enabled.
Note: If System Admin Access is Disabled, then the Contoso Admin must manually enable it while logged from the Tenant Settings, only then Cloud Admin can impersonate the Tenant Admin.
Tenant Admin (admin@constoso.com) Tenant can request Cloud Admin to impersonate for supportCloud Admin creates the Contoso Tenant
Note: Once the Tenant is created, the Tenant Admin profile gets created automatically. An email notification will be sent to the email address use for creating the CSP Tenant
- This completes the steps to create a tenant and provide access to the Tenant Admin.
- The tenant will be created and the CSP Customer for e.g. Contoso Admin can login with their email address and password to the Tenant.
- CSP Customer for e.g. Contoso Admin will be able to View the Cost and Usage from Governance & Security Tab where cost values will based on the markup or discount as configured in the Configure CSP Customer Billing Settings
Note: HyperCloud™ Platform uses the CSP Api to get Cost and Usage details and does not need or create any app registration in the CSP customer account.
- All Subscriptions for the CSP Customers will be pre-populated when the Customer navigates to Administration Account Management Azure (Non CSP).
- If CSP Customer for e.g. Contoso, would like to use HyperCloud™ Platform for Service Orchestration or Governance (Security, Identity), only then the Customer should create an App registration in their Azure Account and update the values for Name, Client ID, Client Secret.
Note: CSP Customers should refer to the 6.5.2 HyperGrid Quick Start Guide – HyperCloud™ Platform – Cloud Account Management for account onboarding requirements.
Supporting CSP Customer via Impersonation
CSP Admins can support CSP Customers in HyperCloud™ Platform by impersonating the Customer Tenant Admin for e.g. Contoso Admin Profile. To enable Tenant Admin Impersonation, use the following steps:
- From HyperCloud™ Platform as Cloud Admin Click on Administration Tab Click on Users
- Locate your own account and ensure that ROLE_CLOUD_ADMIN_IMPERSONATE has been assigned to your user profile.
- Locate the Tenant Admin for the Tenant for e.g. Contoso Click on the Actions Button and click on Impersonate
Note: Cloud Admin cannot impersonate a Tenant if the System Admin Access was set to Disabled when creating the Tenant.
- HyperCloud™ Platform will load the Tenant Admin view for e.g. admin@contoso.com.
- This way Cloud Admin can provide support or configure environments for their CSP Customers.
