Overview
This page explores the different views and accessibilities for a CSP tenant.
Tenant View
For the Tenant view:
Login to your HCP account.
Go to Cost Management > Azure CSP.
Accessibility
To have access to the CSP view, the tenant/customer should have mark up set by the Cloud Administrator (CA) and monitoring enabled on least one of the subscriptions. If this isn’t done, there will be a notification for configuration when a tenant lands on the Azure CSP page.
Add Mark Up.
Enable Monitoring.
Note:
Every tenant role has to go through the CSP-Tenant linking process.
Once linked, the customer has to have mark up set along with monitoring enabled on any one of the subscription.
All these set of requirements are fulfilled by the CA while or after on-boarding a customer to HCP as a tenant else the behavior of the tenant will be no different than a HCP tenant without CSP features.
Dashboard View
Dashboard presents cost and cost trends of customer for its subscriptions/services as per the resources and its categories for the last 30 days.
This data is continuously accumulated (or fetched on demand) over periodical cycles of 5 minutes to 12 hours depending upon the chart/screen types and the time range chosen by the user (if available e.g in cost tab) on page.
View Per Subscription Monitored
Other tabs are present in Azure usage/cost view per subscription, and for the subscriptions being enabled for monitoring by the CA. When there are more then one subscription being monitored, tenant can switch between the views by subscription selection from the combo-box on the upper left bar.
Cost View
The Cost tab displays cost variations based on the time range and service type chosen by the user.
Usage View
Similar to the Cost view, the Usage page will provide variations in the usage as per the the services and its subcategories.
Usage Detailed View
A detailed usage view per service and it's subcategory for the specific resource for a given time range can also be accessed.
Optimization/HCP Recommendations
Based on the customer subscriptions, and if the subscription has been enabled for monitoring, HCP Monitor + Optimization Services will present it's recommendations per subscription for all the resources/services under monitor, based on the data-points collected over long running periodical cycles from Azure.
Note:
For resource optimization, we let customers know how they can make optimum use of their resources by giving them insights like costing, right size resource, idle resource etc .
HCP Services recognizes all the low utilization resources , Idle resources and resources that can be candidates for right sizing.
These recommendations may vary over time depending upon the usage and time period over which the data-points have been collected for the resource and its usage.
A comparison is available for tenant to view between Current resource vs Right Sized vs Idle resource usage and utilization.
