In order to use the diagnostic queries in this section, we need to have access to the connection history and command history tables for the scan. Since Gwynn R1, these tables are purged to save space as they can grow quite large.
Turn ON saving diagnostic information
Please be aware that turning on history saving will cause a large volume of data to be saved in your database.
- Log in to your iQSonar user interface
- Go to the "Administration → System Settings" screen
- In the "scanning" section, turn ON the two options for "Keep Connection History" and "Keep Command History"
- Re-scan the problematic targets, or scan your estate.
- After the scan, the connection information for the diagnostics queries will be available.
Turn off History Saving
If you have scanned an estate with history saving turned on, the data will be purged (over a short period of time) if you subsequently turn these options off. This will allow you to recover the space used once remediation has been completed.
- Log in to your iQSonar user interface
- Go to the "Administration → System Settings" screen
- In the "scanning" section, turn OFF the two options for "Keep Connection History" and "Keep Command History"
- The database engine will gradually release the space used. The diagnostics queries in this section which rely on the history data will no longer work
