Information: You can import, add, and manage users if you are a Cloud or a Tenant Administrator.

If you are an administrator, you can add or import Users to the Cloud Management HyperCloudTM Platform (CMPHCP). ) Adding or importing new users allows them to access CMP HCP features. You You can add users at the Group, Role, or the Tenant level. A user inherits the access based on the role assigned while adding a user to the CMP HCP portal. You  You can change these accesses and permissions anytime.

If you add a user with a Tenant Administrator role, the user can view other Tenant Administrators and Users. 

You can add or modify users at the level for which you have the edit permission. You  You can also delete and deactivate users. If you are a user with edit permission, then you can delete another user. This document guides you through these features below.

You can add a user to the CMP HCP portal in two ways:

  • Manually add a new user via the Users page.

  • Import new users

    from remote

    from remote authentication providers like Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) or Microsoft Azure Active Directory.

Add New User

You can add as many users to the CMP HCP portal as you need. To add To add a new user to CMP the HCP portal:

  1. Login to the

    CMP

    HCP portal.

  2. Navigate to Administration

    Users

    > Users.

  3. Click on New. You'll be redirected to the User page.

  4. Fill up the user details, as shown below: 

Field Name

Description

Firstname

User's first name.

Lastname

User's last name.

Email

User's Email address.

Username

Enter the user name. This is the name that the user will have to use, to log in to the CMP portal.

Organization

Name of the user's Organization.

Job Title

User's Job Title.

Phone Number

User's phone number.

Groups

Add the user to relevant User Groups.

Roles

Select the user's role from the list of Roles. You can multi-select roles for a user. To know more, read about User Roles.

Tenant

This field is auto-populated as per the tenancy settings.

New Password

Create a password for the user. The password you create can be permanent or temporary.

Confirm New Password

Confirm the new password.

Landing Page

You'll need to select the page that the user is redirected to after logging into the CMP portal.

Active

You can Activate or Deactivate a user. In this case, you'll Activate the user.

5. Assign roles to the user based on the type of access you would like to provide. 

6. Click on Save Changes.

Import Users

You can import users and replicate the organization structure in your CMP HCP portal from remote authentication providers like:

  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)

  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory

To Import users from users from a remote authentication provider:

  1. Sign in to the

    CMP

    HCP portal.

  2. Navigate to Administration> Users.

  3. Click on Import. You'll see the Import Users (Remote) dialog.

  4. Enter the details, as shown below:

Distinguished Name

Enter the Distinguished Name (DN). To enter multiple users, enter the DN in a new line. 

Roles

Select the User Roles that apply to the user.

5. Click on Save Changes. You'll notice that new user records appear at the top of the User list.
